Enlarging uses interpolation, so it cannot invent details that were not there.
JPG/WebP only. Quality is lowered automatically to fit the target.
How to use
- Upload an image.
- Enter width/height or press a scale button (50%, 200%, ...).
- Apply, check the result and download.

What this tool does
Changes the size (width x height in pixels) of an image. Set it by percent, by long or short side, or by typing the width and height, and choose how to handle a different ratio.
Steps
- Upload an image. Its original size appears under "Original size".
- Decide the size. Use a scale button (25%, 50%, 200%...), the percent, the long or short side, or the width/height; the other fields fill in automatically.
- If you set a ratio different from the original, choose what to do under "When ratio differs".
- For pixel art, turn on "Keep pixel art".
- Choose the format and quality and press "Apply". The result preview with its size and file size appears.
- When satisfied, press "Download" or "Send to Workbench".
Settings
- Keep ratio: when on, setting just the width or height calculates the other from the original ratio.
- Longest side, Shortest side: set the longer or shorter side regardless of orientation.
- When ratio differs: "Stretch to fit" distorts the image, "Center and crop to fill" crops the overflow around the center, and "Keep ratio, pad the rest" shows the whole image and fills the rest with padding (transparent or a color).
- Output format "Original": JPG stays JPG, WebP stays WebP, and others (PNG, GIF, BMP...) are saved as PNG.
- Transparent padding: with "Keep ratio, pad the rest", transparent padding is kept only in PNG/WebP; JPG fills it with white. For another color, turn transparency off and pick a padding color.
How it works
The image is redrawn on a browser canvas at the target size. When shrinking a lot it is not done in one step: it is halved repeatedly until it is within 2x of the target and then fitted to the target to avoid jagged edges, and enlarging uses interpolation (smooth blending). With "Keep pixel art" the nearest pixel is copied without blending.
Good to know
- Enlarging is interpolation, so it cannot invent details that were not there.
- To hit a file size, save as JPG or WebP and enter a "Target size (KB)".
