ID Photo Cropper
Drag a selection locked to the chosen size (mm), then save at the exact pixel size or lay out several copies on a print sheet.
Output size:
The face guide is only a position reference. Check each country's detailed rules (face size ratio, background color, etc.). DPI only affects the pixel size and is not written into the file.
How to use
- Upload a photo.
- Choose the size and resolution, then move or resize the selection to match the face guide.
- Save a single photo or a print sheet.

What this tool does
Crops a photo to a required size in mm such as passport, visa, ID or resume photos, and saves it as a single photo or a print sheet with several copies.
Steps
- Upload a photo facing the camera.
- Under "Size" choose the size your submission requires. If it is not listed use "Custom" and enter mm.
- Choose the "Resolution (DPI)". The default of 300 is a common value for printing. For online submission, check whether the site requires a specific pixel size.
- Using the face guide, drag the area to move it and drag a corner to resize it. The selection is locked to the aspect ratio of the chosen photo size in mm.
- For printing at a photo lab or on a home printer, choose a paper size under "Print sheet" and adjust the "Gap between photos" if needed.
- Pick the format (JPG recommended) and quality and press "Download".
Settings
- Size: passport/visa 35x45mm, ID/resume 30x40mm, US passport 51x51mm, China visa 33x48mm, or custom.
- Resolution (DPI): output pixels = mm ÷ 25.4 x DPI. For example 35x45mm at 300 DPI is about 413x531 pixels.
- Face guide: reference lines to place the face. They are not saved into the photo.
- Print sheet: places the same photo on a 4x6 inch (101.6x152.4mm), 5x7 inch (127x177.8mm) or A4 (210x297mm) sheet, automatically choosing portrait or landscape, whichever fits more. The sheet info shows the sheet size and columns x rows. Example: a 35x45mm photo at 300 DPI on a 4x6 inch sheet gives 4 across x 2 down = 8 photos.
How it works
The area keeps the photo's mm ratio while the matching part of the image is cut out and resampled to the output size in pixels. For a sheet a large canvas is made from the paper size converted with the DPI, and the same photo is drawn in a grid with the gap, leaving a 3mm margin at the edges and centering the grid. Both portrait and landscape are calculated and the one that fits more is used (portrait if equal). The DPI value only affects the pixel count; it is not written into the file.
Good to know
- The face guide is only a reference. Check country-specific rules such as face size ratio and background color before submitting.
- If the selected area has fewer pixels than the output you will see a "resolution warning". A larger original photo is better.
